Nokia E71 Phone Review – Straight Talk
When the Nokia E71 was released for Straight Talk in October, 2010, it got a very warm reception from pay-as-you-go customers. The reason is that this new device is one of the most capable devices yet offered for prepaid service. Writers of other Nokia E71 Straight Talk review all seem to conclude, the E71 is a great option for prepaid users.
Consumers from Straight Talk and its sister companies, TracFone and Net10, have been demanding a phone like the E71 for years. Previously, America Movil (parent company to ST, Net10, and TracFone) took a long time to add phones with new features, giving consumers the most basic handsets to choose from. Often, these devices resembled something that probably was long-since available to post-paid users.
While the E71 also has been offered to customers of other (post-paid) carriers for a couple of years, because of all the options it includes it is a giant step forward for prepaid aficionados. Most significantly, it allows users to install apps. These apps can be downloaded via Nokia's Ovi store. While it’s true that the Ovi store doesn’t have as many apps as are available for the iPhone or Android devices, it does still include 5000 options. These cover most applications you would want to use your smartphone for, including a good selection of productivity apps and games. Further, a good many of the apps are available at no charge.
Another highlight of the new E71 is the browser – much more capable than previous Straight Talk devices. It does many things those other browsers could not, such as full-screen browsing, audio streaming, and even flash video playback (including from YouTube).
Many of these apps, and of course the browser, wouldn’t work very well without fast data connections. Fortunately, the E71 is very capable in this department too. First, includes 3G connectivity, which offers a fast data connection when you are out and about. Additionally, it’s wi-fi enabled. This will offer even faster data speeds if you're at home or near another wi-fi hotspot such as in a coffee shop.
Another feature that many people have asked for is the ability to sync to a PC to manage calendars, contacts, and media. Nokia offers a computer program to do just that.
Above I’ve listed just a fraction of the many features that make the E71 a very exciting option for prepaid. Beyond that, you can be assured that the actual “phone” capabilities won’t disappoint. Nokia is renowned for its durable, dependable, and high-quality devices. This includes excellent call quality and signal reception.
Hopefully I’ve given a helpful overview what this phone can do, but truthfully this device has so many features that I couldn’t possibly cover them all here. To get all the info and/or ask me questions, you might like to visit my Straight Talk Nokia E71 Review page.

This phone has far more capabilities than I will ever use. I find the web browsing on the move and the GPS amazing. As you go along, you find more and more things that really add to the quality of your life. What I love is that this is on Straight Talk and not some expensive 2 year plan. Straight talk prepaid is now right up there with the best of them.
I have the Nokia 6790 but the E71 is virtually the same and can say that if you are on the move and need an office in you pocket this cell phone is amazing. I have access to my emails, web, I have GPS and add that to Straight Talks unlimited plan and you will be surprised with unlimited text/talk/data and free 411 calls.
Bought it and am happy. Not sure what else to say. Straight talk is a good deal but it seems like we all know that already. In this economy it is always good to see companies looking to help out the little guy!
