LG 231C, 320G, 420G, 620G and 900G, Samsung T105G and T155G Coming soon to TracFone

New Phones

Based on recent FCC documents, it appears that TracFone and Net10 will soon be adding more phones to their lineups. These new models include the LG 320G, LG 420G, LG 620G, LG 900G, LG 231C, Samsung T105G and Samsung T155G.

An astute observer of the FCC has noted that these models are showing up on the FCC website, indicating that the manufacturers have applied for approval of the new devices. This is a required step before the new phones can be sold to the public.

As you can tell from the final digits in the model number (either "C" for CDMA or "G" for GSM), only one of these will be CDMA. That means that they are not going to be Straight Talk phones, with possibly one exception, since Straight Talk uses only CDMA models. This is good news for lower-volume users who prefer Net10 and TracFone, as in the past there has been some disappointment over Straight Talk getting "better" phones.

All of the new models appear to offer more advanced features than their predecessors, with most including cameras and bluetooth. Some include mp3 players as well, which is something, it seems, that is fast becoming a new standard feature. Hopefully one or more of the mp3 phones will come to TracFone, which still lacks a phone with music-player functionality.

While the release date is not yet known, in the past the phones have been available for sale within several months of the corresponding paperwork being filed with the FCC.
